2. Marinating The Beef

To infuse the beef with flavour, it’s essential to marinate it.

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornflour, minced garlic, and onion powder.

Stir the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined.

Add the thinly sliced beef into the marinade, stirring to coat the beef evenly.

Allow the beef to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or longer for more flavour, refrigerate it for up to 2 hours.

3. Preparing The Broccoli

While the beef marinates, prepare the broccoli.

Begin by washing the broccoli florets thoroughly under cold running water.

Trim any excess stalks and separate the florets into bite-sized pieces.

Pat them dry using kitchen paper to remove any excess water.

4. Cooking The Beef And Broccoli

Preheat your air fryer to 190C / 380F for 8 minutes.

Add the broccoli florets to the basket. Season the broccoli with salt and pepper according to your taste preferences and spray with cooking oil.

Cook for 8 minutes and shake frequently until the broccoli starts to brown and crisp.

Remove the broccoli from the basket and set aside.

Place the marinated beef into the basket, making sure it’s spread out in a single layer and not overlapping.

Spray with cooking oil and cook for 15 minutes, shaking often.

5. Making The Beef And Broccoli Sauce

In a bowl add the brown sugar, ginger, soy sauce, white wine vinegar, beef stock, garlic and cornflour. Stir well to combine.

In a pan, pour in the sauce mix. Add the broccoli and beef to the pan.

Over medium heat stir until the sauce has thickened and coated the beef and broccoli.

6. Serve and Enjoy

Your Air Fryer Beef & Broccoli is now ready.

You can garnish the dish with sesame seeds or chopped spring onions for an added touch.

Serve the beef and broccoli over rice or noodles and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

You can use frozen broccoli in this recipe. Make sure the broccoli is thawed and patted dry before adding it to the basket. This will prevent excess moisture from affecting the cooking process and the broccoli will crisp up.

You can experiment by adding other vegetables to the dish. Bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, or mushrooms make excellent additions, adding colour, texture, and flavour to the dish.

While stir-fried steak and sirloin are commonly used for beef and broccoli dishes, you can substitute them with other cuts of beef, such as ribeye or tenderloin. Be sure to thinly slice the beef for quick and even cooking.

The provided seasoning quantities are a general guideline, and you can adjust them according to your taste.

Feel free to add more soy sauce for a saltier flavour or increase the amount of garlic and ginger for a bolder taste.

For a more tender beef, consider marinating it for a longer period, up to 24 hours, or opt for cuts like ribeye or tenderloin.
